FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - August 22, 2006
CHARLES RIVER LABORATORY JOINS CHICAGO TECHNOLOGY PARK
CHICAGO - The Chicago Technology Park, Inc. (CTP), serving as a vital ground for start-up and developing technology companies, announced today that the Charles River Laboratories has opened a new pathology facility within the 56-acre technology park. Charles River becomes the ninth contract research organization (CRO) to locate within the CTP.
Based in Wilmington, Mass., Charles River is a global provider of solutions that advance the drug discovery and development process. The company supplies research models and laboratory animal support services, preclinical services, and clinical services to the biomedical market.
Charles River's new CTP pathology facility will provide biopharmaceutical product and process services, including pathology-based expertise required for regulatory studies and investigative research to support non-clinical product development programs.
"Charles River's decision to locate one of its research facilities to the CTP is a testament to our resources, facilities and people," said Samuel Pruett, CTP Executive Director. "As the outsourcing trend in pharmaceutical discovery and development continues, we want other CROs and life-science companies to know the CTP is an attractive destination to grow their business."
